Clinical Assistant Professor

The Division of Hospital and Palliative Medicine (HPM) at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking an exceptional Internist to join our team as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the one-year Hospitalist Scholar Program . This is a unique fixed term full-time faculty position with an emphasis on combining clinical work, and staffing teaching teams, while also being guided through a mentorship program with dedicated time for scholarly work.

Responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities for the Hospitalist Scholar role within the Keck Hospital Medicine group includes a reduced, hybrid schedule of days and nights, with a mix of Teaching Teams at both Keck Medical Center and USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. The successful applicant would also have weeks on Team D, which has a lower patient volume.

In addition to inpatient clinical and teaching responsibilities, the Hospitalist Scholar will participate in a 12-month mentorship program designed to provide the tools to succeed in a career as a Hospitalist, while also allowing dedicated time to pursue scholarly interests.

Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate a dedication to caring for a diverse patient population, a passion for teaching learners at various levels, excellent communication skills, and an enthusiasm for working in a collegial team-based environment.

Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine and hold a current CA State Medical License and a full schedule, fee paid DEA License with a CA address at the time of credentialing.

Benefits

This one-year fixed term position begins on July 1 and ends June 30 of the following year.

This position offers a salary of $230,000. Reimbursement for one-year Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) membership and attendance at the annual SHM Converge conference is also available.
