In this role, you will support the Thacker Pass operation & Corporate FP&A department, through performing high‑quality managerial accounting, financial analysis, and business partnership. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate site‑level financial reporting, supporting operational decision‑making, and strengthening financial processes as the project advances. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission‑driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the clean energy sector.The role is initially based at our Reno, Nevada office and will initially report to the Manager, FP&A, potentially transitioning to reporting to the Finance Manager, Thacker Pass as the site organization evolves. Frequent travel to Winnemucca, Nevada office and occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations will be required.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis for the Thacker Pass operationPrepare and analyze cost reports, operational KPIs, and financial performance metricsAssist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Corporate FinancePartner with site operations teams to provide financial insights that support day‑to‑day and strategic decision‑makingMaintain accurate cost accounting records, inventory tracking, and capital project reportingContribute to the development and documentation of internal controls, supporting SOX compliance effortsParticipate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial accuracy, efficiency, and transparencyBuilds and maintains trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and ValuesPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2–3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related rolesCPA or CMA designation (or progress toward one) is an assetStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational dataSolid understanding of managerial accounting concepts and financial reportingAbility to collaborate effectively with both finance and operations teamsProficiency with Excel and financial systems; experience with ERP systems is an advantageStrong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑throughPersonal commitment to Lithium Americas’ Purpose, Vision, and ValuesAt Lithium Americas, we believe our people are our most valuable asset.
