Resident Admissions Counselor

As a full-time Resident Admissions Counselor with Liberty University’s Enrollment Team, you’ll have the opportunity to workwith a thriving community of residential students in Lynchburg,Virginia. In this role, you'll recruit and encourage prospectivestudents through meaningful phone conversations, guiding them asthey prepare for a rewarding academic journey. Resident AdmissionsCounselors also play a key role in facilitating student engagementduring on-campus recruitment events. After completing trainingin-office, you’ll have the flexibility to choose between workingfrom your home within a 30-minute commute to Liberty’s campus orfrom our on-campus office. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Effectively handling incoming and outgoing phone communicationwith prospective students by utilizing cisco, dialer and otheragent tools. Taking new applications for prospective students by following adepartment call-flow and promoting the University’s degreeprograms. Taking Enrollment Deposits for prospective students by followinga department call-flow. Converting prospective students from an application to admissiondecision by following a department call-flow and promoting theUniversity’s degree programs. Guiding students through Financial Check-in to secure theirfirst enrollment to Liberty University by following a departmentcall-flow. Aiding students in the selection of classes based on thestudent’s intended degree program. Counseling students on enrollment steps up to matriculation,financial aid processes, transfer guidelines, and other relatedconcerns. Promoting the features and benefits of all undergraduate,graduate and doctoral programs as well as the added value of anon-campus education. Answering questions of a complex nature regarding theUniversity’s admissions policies. Developing relationships and coordinating with support officesto solve student problems and address student concerns. Assisting with on-campus recruitment events. Finding new and innovative ways to become more effective andefficient in new student services. Implementing daily and weekly feedback from the Management Teamon areas to improve. Meeting or exceeding departmental key performanceindicators. Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies A high school diploma and customer service/sales experience arerequired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Must live within a30-minute commute of Liberty University’s campus. Must be able towork first/second shift hours, rotating Saturdays, and occasionalovertime. A bachelor's degree and previous contact centerexperience are preferred. Ability to help students overcomeobstacles preventing their initial enrollment and ultimatecompletion of a degree. Effective communication both verbally andin writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information andevents, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both aroutine and complex nature. Strong organizational and computerskills. Regularly required to lift 10 or fewer pounds. As needed,Counselors will drive to facilitate On-Campus events andactivities, which will require completion of Liberty University'sApproved Driver program. This job requires a valid driverslicense.
