Your positive, professional, and consistent personal interactions make AvalonBay a great place to work.The Role:The Manager, Capital Planning & Analysis leads the planning, due diligence, scoping, design, underwriting, execution, and reporting of capital projects across the region. The role is responsible for developing scopes of work, project budgets, schedules, and execution plans that align with asset management and investment objectives.Key Responsibilities:Lead capital projects from initial concept through project completionPartner with Asset Management, Investments, Design, Residential Services, Engineering, and Operations teams to develop project strategiesConduct due diligence and feasibility assessments for capital improvement opportunitiesPrepare project scopes, budgets, schedules, and underwriting assumptionsManage consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal project teamsOversee permitting, approvals, and project execution activities.Monitor project financial performance, timelines, risks, and overall resultsProvide regular reporting and updates to leadership on project status, budgets, and outcomesEnsure projects meet company standards for quality, safety, and resident experienceSupport long-term capital planning and portfolio improvement initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, Business, or a related fieldProgressive experience managing capital projects, construction projects, or asset improvement programsStrong project management, budgeting, and financial analysis skillsExperience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong communication and stakeholder management abilitiesProficiency with project management and financial reporting toolsHow AvalonBay Supports You:We know that our teams are the beating heart of our success and we’re committed to showing our appreciation.We offer:Comprehensive benefits — health, dental and vision, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, tuition reimbursement, an employee stock purchase plan and more.
