Tax Associate

RSM is a provider of professional services to the middle market globally. The Tax Associate – Credits, Incentives & Methods (CIM) – Accounting Methods & Periods (AMP) engages with clients across industries to deliver tax planning and compliance support in AMP engagements. Responsibilities Assist with tax planning and research related to timing of income, deductions, capitalization, cost recovery, and inventory. Develop an understanding of the client’s business and industry to identify tax planning ideas. Implement multiple projects simultaneously, including client interviews, data gathering, analysis, computations, and preparation of tax filings (forms 3115, 1128, 970, and 2848). Document facts and positions and draft other technical memoranda. Communicate effectively and respond promptly to internal and external requests to drive success of AMP engagements. Maintain competency through continuing education and obtain additional professional certifications. Basic Qualifications Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university. Travel to assigned client locations is required; must have access to reliable transportation. Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred. Preferred Qualifications Working toward the successful completion of the CPA exam. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Ability to work effectively on a team. Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Compensation Compensation Range: $61,600 – $73,500.
