This Clinical Assistant Professor role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with serious and complex illnesses while supporting their families across inpatient and outpatient settings.The selected candidate will contribute to OU Health’s mission of advancing health equity, education, and evidence-based care, while actively participating in academic, clinical, and quality improvement initiatives within a leading academic medical center.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical CareProvide comprehensive palliative care consultations in inpatient and outpatient settings at OU HealthConduct symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, and advance care planningCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and case managersSupport transitions of care and coordinate with hospice and community-based servicesEducation and MentorshipTeach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows within the University of Oklahoma College of MedicineParticipate in clinical teaching rounds, case conferences, and interdisciplinary educationContribute to curriculum development in palliative and serious illness careAcademic and Quality InitiativesEngage in quality improvement projects and program developmentParticipate in research and scholarly activities aligned with palliative medicineSupport institutional initiatives related to patient experience, ethical care, and serious illness communicationQualificationsRequiredMD or DO with eligibility for medical licensure in the state of OklahomaBoard certification or board eligibility in Hospice and Palliative MedicineDemonstrated commitment to compassionate, patient-centered careStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary settingsPreferredAcademic experience in teaching, research, or scholarly activityExperience in inpatient consultation services and/or outpatient palliative careInterest in program development, innovation, or health equity initiativesAbout OU Health and the University of Oklahoma College of MedicineOU Health is Oklahoma’s only comprehensive academic health system and serves as a major referral center for complex and serious illness care.
