Job Description

This role focuses on electro-mechanical and clean room device assembly and packaging in a regulated medical device production environment. You will use manual hand assembly skills and basic tools to build and package high-quality products while following strict procedures and documentation. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, initiative, the ability to work well within a team, and consistently delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform electro-mechanical and clean room device assembly and packaging in accordance with manufacturing procedures and quality standards.
• Support company goals and objectives by following all policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable FDA regulations, including medical device quality standards.
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), departmental policies and procedures (DOPs), quality assurance programs, and safety and environmental standards.
• Read and interpret manufacturing procedures, engineering drawings, and inspection procedures written in English, and apply their requirements accurately during assembly and inspection.
• Use basic hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and other equipment to assemble components, verify measurements, and ensure products meet specifications.
• Operate electrical and mechanical equipment safely and effectively, and interpret results to confirm proper operation and product quality.
• Monitor your own work for accuracy and thoroughness, and ensure all products meet established quality criteria before moving to the next stage.
• Identify and report issues with tooling, materials, processes, or product quality, and take appropriate action to maintain high standards.
• Practice and advocate safe work habits at all times, including proper use of equipment and adherence to clean room protocols.
• Work with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity, quality, and adherence to production schedules.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues in a cross-functional team environment, including production, packaging, and clean room departments.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with team members, staff, clients, and suppliers.
• Use computer systems and various software programs to transact product within the production system, complete documentation, and perform online training.
• Participate in cross-training across multiple departments, including packaging, production, and clean room operations, and apply learned skills to support production needs.
• Meet deadlines and production targets while performing repetitive assembly tasks in a consistent and efficient manner.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of medical device assembly experience.
• Diploma or equivalent level of education.
• Proficiency in manual hand assembly work with small components in a production or clean room environment.
• Ability to use basic hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
• Ability to operate electrical and mechanical equipment and interpret results to verify proper function and product quality.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and to detect issues with tooling, materials, processes, or product quality.
• Ability to read, interpret, and learn engineering drawings, manufacturing procedures, processes, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a cross-functional team environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Ability to work on a computer using various programs to transact product within the production system and complete online training.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated active listening.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to establish, build, and maintain professional working relationships at all levels.
• Meticulous approach to meeting deadlines and maintaining accurate, thorough work output.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a clean room or controlled production environment.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and FDA-regulated medical device production.
• Experience with microscope work or fine assembly tasks.
• Comfort performing repetitive production and assembly tasks with consistent quality.
• Ability to quickly learn new equipment and processes and demonstrate proficiency.
• Understanding of safety and environmental standards in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong initiative and reliability in a team-based production environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clean room and production facility with a mix of sitting and standing throughout the shift. The role is on 4th shift, working Friday through Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m on three 12-hour shifts. Work involves repetitive assembly and packaging tasks using hand tools, measuring instruments, and electrical and mechanical equipment. You will be cross-trained across multiple departments, including packaging, production, and clean room operations, with approximately two weeks of training in each area. The environment follows strict safety, quality, and cleanliness standards typical of medical device manufacturing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Irvine,CA.
