Job Description

This 1st shift Electro-Mechanical Assembler role is a hands-on position in a military and defense manufacturing environment located in the Santa Ana/Costa Mesa area. You will support complex electro-mechanical assemblies for missile-related systems, working closely with engineering and production teams to build, integrate, and test sophisticated hardware. The position offers a steady day shift schedule with opportunities for overtime during the week and on weekends as needed. You work a day shift schedule from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m ., with the possibility of overtime during the week and on Saturdays depending on production needs. The

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical assemblies and integration work in a manufacturing setting, with a focus on complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Assemble and integrate components for missile-related projects, including support for programs such as the Barracuda assembly project.
• Use common hand tools and power tools, including torque wrenches, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, depth micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, multimeters, test boxes, and specialized test equipment to perform precise assembly and testing tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate builds and integrations.
• Perform electro-mechanical assembly tasks such as mechanical assembly, electronic assembly, integration, and soldering as required.
• Mechanically assemble complex electro-mechanical assemblies, including high-quality wire harnesses, test racks, junction boxes, and associated components involving hand soldering and component fabrication.
• Conduct validation and testing of electronic components using equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and test racks.
• Perform electronic box assembly troubleshooting and document detailed issue tickets for failures and nonconformances.
• Run functional checkouts and tests on assemblies and systems, and diagnose issues discovered during these processes.
• Support testing and operation of RF systems and assist with extensive troubleshooting of system-level and component-level issues.
• Work with printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), including troubleshooting and repair activities when needed.
• Rapidly shift roles and responsibilities to meet changing priorities in a high-paced, challenging production environment.
• Communicate effectively in verbal and written form with engineering and production teams to clarify requirements, report issues, and ensure alignment on build and test activities.
• Use standard computer applications, including web browsers and word processing tools, to access documentation, record test results, and complete production-related reporting.
• Follow all facility procedures and quality standards to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Be available for overtime and potential weekend shifts as production demands require.

Essential Skills

• At least 4 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace, electronics, or medical industries, performing mechanical and/or electrical assemblies and integration.
• Strong proficiency with common hand tools and power tools, including torque wrenches, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, depth micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, multimeters, test boxes, and specialized test equipment.
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and detailed assembly instructions.
• Working knowledge of common electrical components and their application in assemblies and systems.
• Proficiency with computer use, including standard web browsers and word processing applications, for documentation and communication.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt quickly to changing roles and responsibilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with engineering and production personnel.
• Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly, including mechanical assembly, electronic assembly, troubleshooting, repair, and integration.
• Comfort working in a military and defense manufacturing environment, including involvement with missile-related assemblies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience mechanically assembling complex electro-mechanical systems, including high-quality wire harnesses, test racks, junction boxes, and related components.
• Skilled in hand soldering and component fabrication for electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Experience performing validation and testing of electronic components using multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and test racks.
• Familiarity with common airframe construction techniques such as rivets, mechanical fasteners, nut plates, and similar hardware.
• Experience with electronic box assembly troubleshooting and writing detailed issue tickets for failures.
• Ability to run functional checkouts and tests and to diagnose issues identified during these processes.
• Experience testing and operating RF systems and performing extensive troubleshooting on electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with PCBA work, including testing and troubleshooting.
• Skilled in production, assembly, troubleshooting, blueprint reading, mechanical and electrical work, schematic interpretation, repair, and use of hand and power tools.

The role is based in a clean, well-organized military and defense manufacturing facility in the Santa Ana/Costa Mesa area. environment is fast-paced and technically challenging, involving hands-on work with electro-mechanical assemblies, test equipment, and RF systems. The company is large and growing, with recent funding secured to build a new facility, offering a stable and expanding work setting focused on high-quality production and advanced defense technologies.

This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
