**Job Description****UW Medicine-Montlake- Food and Nutrition**has an outstanding opportunity for a **Barista.****WORK SCHEDULE*** Intermittent (per diem)* Day Shift**DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION**The Nutrition and Food Services department supports UW Medicine's mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community.Our vision is to create a supportive and empowering workplace for all, provide unparalleled experiences for our customers and patients, and improve the quality of life and health of the public.**POSITION HIGHLIGHTS*** Performs routine work in preparing and serving espresso beverages and food items and cleaning activities* Performs a variety of duties in the preparation and service of espresso beverages and food items**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*** Prepare and serve coffee and espresso;* Weigh, prepare, and serve meals;* Clean work area and equipment;* Take cash payment for meals and drinks;* Operate cooking, espresso and kitchen equipment;* Assist in maintaining daily stock of work area and weekly inventory;* Perform related duties as required.**REQUIREMENTS*** Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment AND one year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage.* Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.**ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWEST**UW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
