Senior Structural Designer - 3D Model Lead

Senior Or Intermediate Structural Designer / 3D Modeler BBA is seeking a Senior or Intermediate Structural Designer / 3D Modeler to join our Lakewood office and support large-scale heavy industrial and mining projects. This role is a key technical and coordination position responsible for structural Revit modeling, drafting quality management, and the oversight of drafting standards within a multi-disciplinary project environment. The successful candidate will act as a technical reference for structural modeling, ensure model integrity and consistency across disciplines, and contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting processes, tools, and standards. Responsibilities include: Leading and producing 3D structural models and construction drawings for concrete and steel structures using Revit Overseeing and enforcing drafting standards, modeling best practices, and quality control procedures across structural deliverables Coordinating and integrating structural models with civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, and process disciplines Performing model coordination, clash detection, and data validation to ensure accuracy and constructability Reviewing and verifying drawings and models for compliance with project requirements, internal standards, and client expectations Supporting quality management by identifying gaps, implementing improvements, and maintaining consistent documentation practices Converting and managing models across multiple CAD platforms (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.) Developing construction quantities, supporting cost estimates, and assisting with design-phase budgeting Conducting and coordinating detailed design work in collaboration with structural engineers Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to junior designers and drafting staff Participating in field visits, surveys, and construction support activities as required Contributing to business development efforts through client interaction and technical support Qualifications include: Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Structural Engineering Technology from a recognized institution 15+ years of experience in structural drafting and 3D modeling using Revit Extensive experience on heavy industrial projects Strong capability in interpreting complex, multi-disciplinary design drawings Consulting engineering experience preferred Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD Strong understanding of drafting standards, model coordination, and quality assurance processes Working knowledge of health, safety, and hazardous material regulations relevant to industrial projects Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and well-organized design and model files BBA offers: Annual premium program for regular employees Time bank Group insurance plan from the first day of employment 401(k) retirement plan Annual paid time off (PTO) Statutory holidays Premium for employee referrals BBA considers many factors when determining the annual base salary, including location, market, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications, and other relevant skills.
