Materials Buyer

The Materials Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the flow of raw materials and components required to support Paragon Furniture’s manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams including production, warehouse, sales, and engineering to ensure material availability, cost efficiency, inventory accuracy, and on-time production support. The Materials Buyer plays a key role in maintaining supplier relationships, minimizing supply chain risk, and supporting Paragon’s commitment to quality, innovation, and operational excellence.Source and procure raw materials, hardware, plastics, metal components, and other production-related materials required for manufacturing operationsDevelop and maintain strong supplier relationships while evaluating vendor performance related to quality, pricing, service, and lead timesNegotiate pricing, lead times, and purchasing agreements to support cost-effective procurement strategiesMonitor inventory levels and purchasing trends to prevent shortages, minimize excess inventory, and maintain production continuityCoordinate procurement schedules with production planning, seasonal demand, and project timelines to ensure materials are available when neededTrack supplier performance metrics, purchase orders, and procurement KPIs within Odoo ERPCollaborate cross-functionally with production, warehouse, sales, engineering, and customer service teams on material planning and new product launchesIdentify, evaluate, and qualify alternative suppliers to reduce single-source dependency and strengthen supply chain reliabilityEnsure all purchased materials meet company quality standards, specifications, and compliance requirementsResolve supplier, delivery, or material quality issues in a timely manner to minimize operational disruptionsSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, supplier performance, and procurement efficiencyMaintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and inventory data within ERP systemBenefits:Health, dental, and vision insuranceCompany paid and supplemental lifePaid time off3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing or durable goodsStrong negotiation and vendor management skills•ERP experience required; Odoo preferredUnderstanding of inventory planning and forecastingStrong organizational and communication skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSFurniture or commercial interiors experienceKnowledge of seasonal manufacturing cycles and demand-driven procurement planningFamiliarity with ANSI/BIFMA or BNIF standardsDomestic and international sourcing experienceAPICS CSCP, CPSM, or equivalent certification #J-18808-Ljbffr
