Level 1 IT Support Technician

Vrakas CPAs + Advisors is seeking a motivated, customer-oriented Level 1 IT Support Technician to join our team of talented professionals in our Brookfield office. The ideal candidate enjoys learning, is passionate about technology, and excels at providing excellent customer service. A key player who will help take our firm to the next level. This role involves providing technical support to our staff across four office locations, ensuring smooth, efficient IT operations. Responsibilities & Opportunities Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance in person, over the phone, or via email Perform basic troubleshooting and problem resolution using diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions Guide users through step-by-step solutions to resolve their technical issues Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support personnel with detailed documentation of troubleshooting steps taken Maintain accurate records of events, problems, and their resolutions in the ticketing system Follow up with employees to ensure their issues are resolved satisfactorily Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to the IT team Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of new hardware and software Support onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring workstations are properly configured for new hires Conduct basic technology training for new users Document procedures and solutions clearly for inclusion in the firm’s knowledge base inventory Requirements High school diploma required; some college coursework in computer science or related fields is preferred Basic knowledge and experience in troubleshooting PC hardware, software, printers, and mobile devices Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and common office automation tools Strong communication skills with the ability to listen empathetically and explain technical concepts clearly Customer-oriented mindset with patience to handle difficult situations professionally Prior experience in an IT support role is a plus Organizational skills to manage equipment, documents, and tasks effectively Certifications such as A+ or MCP are preferred but not required Limited travel to all office locations (Kenosha, Madison, Chicago) WhyVrakas?
