Registered Nurse I
The Registered Nurse I (RN I) is a compassionate, licensed professional. Delivers safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinates individualized patient education. Guides and supervises ancillary team members. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams. Upholds professional nursing standards consistently. Conducts thorough patient assessments. Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans. Delivers direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes. Provides clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families. Supports health literacy and successful transitions of care. Directs and supervises licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Collaborates effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team. Participates in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development. Floats to other departments as needed, with appropriate training. Performs additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient needs. Education and clinical experience must provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the assigned department. Possesses excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care to patients of all ages. Strong team player with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Commits to professional growth and lifelong learning. Frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body fluids, infectious diseases, and biohazardous materials. Works primarily in a temperature-controlled hospital setting with occasional exposure to varied sounds, odors, and emotionally challenging situations. Must be physically able to lift, position, and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment. Ability to work effectively under stress and respond calmly to emergencies. Maintains strong problem-solving and coping skills. Team-oriented, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic clinical situations. Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance is required. Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring are mandatory. OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification must be obtained within 12 months. SAFER Technician certification is preferred. Skilled in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment.
