About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Accounting to join their team. This executive leadership role is pivotal in overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading high-performing teams, driving strategic initiatives, and providing key financial insights to support organizational decision-making. Key responsibilities include leading all accounting operations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities, as well as overseeing the financial close processes and driving efficiencies through process improvement and automation. The role also involves coordinating external audits, monitoring financial reporting trends, and strengthening internal controls. Applicants for the Vice President of Accounting position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and a CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting credential. A minimum of 10 years' progressive accounting leadership experience within a financial institution, with a preference for those with a background in credit unions or community banks, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls, as well as experience in managing external audits and regulatory examinations. Demonstrated leadership in developing high-performing accounting teams, strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, and the ability to influence executive leadership are essential. Experience with financial reporting systems, process automation, and data analytics is also preferred.
