Location: Virginia (Primary Focus: Richmond, Tidewater, Charlottesville) Reports To: Vice President of Customer Success Status: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Sales Representative with strong, proven knowledge of the Richmond market and the broader Virginia food service and retail landscape. This position is based in Virginia and is responsible for driving new business development and account growth throughout Richmond and all Charlottesville, Hamton Roads/Tidewater region.

The ideal candidate will have established relationships within these areas and demonstrated experience in mid-sized sales territories. This is a field-based role requiring regular in-person customer visits across Virginia, with occasional travel to the Maryland headquarters for meetings and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting Richmond and expanding existing routes in Norfolk/VA Beach and launching Charlottesville.
• Prospect and secure new wholesale and food service accounts including restaurants, grocery stores, cafs, hospitality groups, distributors, and institutions.
• Leverage existing relationships within this region and surrounding areas to drive immediate growth.
• Conduct regular in-person sales calls across Central, Northern, Tidewater, and other Virginia markets.
• Identify regional growth opportunities and competitive positioning strategies.

Sales Performance & Revenue Growth

• Meet or exceed monthly and annual revenue goals.
• Increase product penetration within existing accounts.
• Negotiate pricing and service agreements within company guidelines.
• Maintain a strong and active sales pipeline.

Account Management

• Build long-term partnerships with customers across the state.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction through consistent follow-up and service support.
• Collaborate with internal operations and delivery teams to maintain service excellence.

Reporting & Market Intelligence

• Provide weekly activity updates and territory forecasts.
• Maintain accurate CRM documentation.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends within the assigned market

Company Collaboration

Attend occasional meetings and training sessions at the Maryland headquarters.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of outside sales experience (food service, bakery, CPG, or distribution preferred).
• Strong, demonstrated knowledge of the Central Virginia and Tidewater region.
• Established professional relationships within Richmond and surrounding regions strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Ability to manage a large geographic territory independently.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling fresh or specialty bakery products.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Experience working with independent restaurants and regional grocery chains across Virginia.
