Assistant Controller

Summary: Our award-winning client is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team. This role offers a dynamic environment where you'll support all aspects of accounting, with a particular focus on costing activities. You'll partner with the Controller, analyze data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and contribute to strategic decision-making. - Manage costing activities, analyze variances, and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain cost reports for profitability analysis.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure accurate costing practices.
- Support monthly/year-end closing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing insights to guide decision-making.
- Help establish internal controls, manage audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on costing (manufacturing preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
