Sous Chef

Benefits: Paid time off Health insurance About the Role: Chestnut Grove Association Inc. is looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in New Milford, CT! This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your creativity and culinary expertise to a welcoming environment where great food and great people come together. Our senior living community serves up to 45 meals, 7 days a week, 362 days a year. Dinner is served promptly at 5:30 pm during the week day and promptly at 12:30 pm on the weekends. We are looking for a sous chef to work up to 5 days per week, which may include weekends. Responsibilities: Work with our head chef to design and curate a well-balanced 3-course meal, daily Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and standards Oversee food preparation, presentation, and plating to ensure consistency and quality Manage kitchen operations including mise en place, station setup, and line cooking Monitor food inventory, minimize waste, and assist with ordering supplies as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service during peak hours Contribute creative ideas for menu development and seasonal specials Requirements: Proven experience as a Chef, Line Cook, or similar culinary role Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification a plus) Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment Strong teamwork and communication skills Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred About Us: Chestnut Grove Association Inc. is a proud fixture of the New Milford, CT community, dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences to those we serve.
