Project Coordinator (Houston District, Texas Department of Transportation) Full‑time, on‑site position located at Houston District Headquarters, 7600 Washington Avenue, Houston, TX 77007. Salary range: $48,244.00 – $76,028.00 per year. Travel: required (5% of time). Shift: Day (5 days per week, 8 hours per day). Responsibilities Assists in planning, preparing, and coordinating special meetings, workshops, and conferences. Conducts program or project analyses and develops recommendations to increase productivity and efficiency. Evaluates statistical data, interprets results, and prepares reports on program and project activities. Performs budget‑related review, planning, and development activities. Prepares and presents information on various programs, projects, and activities to executives, departmental staff, and at professional meetings, seminars, and conferences. Prepares sensitive and high‑level correspondence and technical reports. Serves as point of contact and liaison for programs or special projects with other departmental staff, governmental entities, and the public. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). Three years of experience in business analysis, project or program administration, or related experience (or equivalent graduate level education). Valid driver’s license (state vehicle required). Competencies Knowledge of program/project planning, development, and management methodologies. Knowledge of Management Information Systems. Proficiency in maintaining effective working relationships, meeting deadlines, using computers and applicable programs. Skill in establishing plans and setting objectives and goals; anticipating and adjusting for problems/roadblocks. Facilitating groups using effective communication methods and guiding consensus. Planning and coordinating workshops, seminars, and task‑force activities. Analyzing and organizing business and technical data. Logical reasoning to define problems, establish facts, draw conclusions, and make business‑supporting decisions. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Sedentary work. Lift up to 10–20 lbs. occasional weight. Prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Talking, close visual acuity required. Work may include emergency response operations during day or night shifts.
