CNC Mill MachinistThis role focuses on setting up and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines to produce small precision components with short cycle times for high-quality aerospace applications. You will work with a variety of metals, hold extremely tight tolerances, and contribute to a clean, modern, and safety-focused manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines to run small parts with short cycle times.Perform production machining on materials including aluminum, titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel.Read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.Use M-code and G-code to run CNC programs and make necessary adjustments at the machine control.Set up tooling, workholding, and fixtures to ensure accurate and repeatable machining operations.Measure parts to within one thousandth of an inch using precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.Inspect parts during and after machining to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish, documenting results as required.Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, dimensional deviations, and program or setup problems, and implement effective solutions.Support long-run production jobs by monitoring machine performance, maintaining consistent quality, and minimizing downtime.Work with CNC controls and equipment from manufacturers such as Fanuc, Haas, and Mazak, including basic program edits as needed.Collaborate with engineering, inspection, and production teams to ensure parts meet specifications and customer requirements.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards and safety procedures.Follow all company quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of machining processes.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of experience in multi-axis CNC machining, specifically running small parts with short cycle times.Demonstrated ability to measure to one thousandth of an inch using precision measuring tools.Hands-on experience machining aluminum, titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel.Proficiency in CNC mill setup, including tooling, fixturing, and work offsets.Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Working knowledge of G-code and M-code and how they apply to CNC milling operations.Experience with calipers, micrometers, and other precision inspection equipment.Ability to perform in-process inspection and final inspection to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.Experience with multi-axis CNC machines and axis control concepts.Troubleshooting skills for machining processes, tooling issues, and machine performance.Familiarity with CNC controls and equipment such as Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in aerospace machining or aircraft structural components and assemblies.Background or exposure to aircraft mechanical, airframe, or structural work.Experience with long-run production machining environments.Basic CNC programming or editing experience on Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak controls.Exposure to inspection processes and quality systems in a precision manufacturing environment.Interest in ongoing skills development through training and web-based education.Why Work Here?You will join a highly respected aerospace manufacturer known for its impact on commercial, corporate, and military aircraft, with vertically integrated operations that provide exposure to engineering, fabrication, kitting, and assembly. The facility emphasizes safety, orderliness, and consistent processes, supporting both production and inspection activities. Multiple shift options are available, including a weekday evening shift from approximately 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., and weekend shifts such as Friday–Sunday 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or Friday–Sunday 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Weekend schedules typically offer 36 hours of work with pay equivalent to 40 hours, providing additional flexibility. You will work with modern CNC equipment, including multi-axis mills and controls such as Fanuc, Haas, and Mazak, using precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers in a professional, production-focused setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Claremore, OK.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
