We are seeking a Healthcare Benefit Verification Specialist to support patients by researching insurance coverage, verifying benefits, and identifying available coverage options for prescription medications. This role works closely with insurance providers, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and internal teams to ensure a smooth patient experience. Responsibilities:
- Contact insurance companies and pharmacy benefit managers to verify patient benefits and coverage.
- Research and document medical and pharmacy insurance information.
- Identify coverage restrictions, prior authorization requirements, and appeal processes.
- Communicate benefit information to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Participate in training, process improvement initiatives, and special projects.
- Meet productivity, quality, and service goals.
Experience:
- 1-2+ years of experience in customer service, healthcare, insurance, benefits, claims, patient support, or related fields.
- Strong communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of health insurance, pharmacy benefits, reimbursement, prior authorizations, or medical terminology is a plus.
