Onboarding Verification SpecialistAbout the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Onboarding Verification Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring a smooth and compliant onboarding experience for newly hired employees. From coordinating pre-employment screenings and background checks to partnering with internal stakeholders, you will help drive an efficient hiring process while delivering an exceptional candidate experience.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and committed to maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance throughout the onboarding journey.

• Coordinate and complete pre-employment screenings, including:
  • Employment verifications
  • Education verifications
  • Criminal background checks
  • Additional required clearances and credential reviews
• Review and evaluate screening results to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, and Hiring Managers to support a seamless onboarding experience.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates, providing updates on onboarding progress and addressing outstanding requirements.
• Track onboarding milestones and proactively manage timelines to ensure all pre-employment requirements are completed efficiently.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies uncovered during the verification process.
• Maintain accurate and organized records within HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and onboarding platforms.
• Protect confidential candidate and employee information while adhering to privacy and security standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to both candidates and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and the overall onboarding experience.
• Perform additional onboarding and administrative duties as needed.

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting employee onboarding, background screening, or employment verification processes.
• Experience conducting and reviewing pre-employment screenings and background checks.
• Working knowledge of onboarding best practices and compliance requirements.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency with HR systems, onboarding platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Knowledge of employment laws, compliance standards, and background screening regulations.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (35-hour work week)
• Work Model: Hybrid
  • 3 days onsite in Peekskill, NY
  • 2 days remote
• Training Period: New hires may be required to work onsite full-time for the first 1–3 weeks to support training and onboarding.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peekskill, NY.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.85/hr.
