Position Type: Contract Work hours: 40 hours per week Interview Type: In-Person/Webcam Ceipal ID: STX_BA080_IK Requirement ID: 70127080 The Business Analyst (BA) position at the Texas Education Agency works on multiple projects that support the mission of the agency of improving outcomes for Texas students, with a focus on major enhancements and/or rewrite effort. This position will perform advanced, senior-level business analysis work. The business analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow. This BA will be involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle. Upon establishment of the requirements baseline, the focus is shifted towards the management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements, including requirements for enhancements post-lementation. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION: Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Texas Education Agency . Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM , excluding State holidays when the agency is closed. The primary work location(s) will be at Hybrid, with the option to work up to 80% - 100% remotely. The working position is Telework . Responsibilities: Elicitation & Analysis - Analyzes user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems. Elicits requirements using joint application development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis. Requirements Writing & Visual Output - Transforms information from elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups. Uses standard templates and simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language. BA Best Practices & Mentorship - Acts as a mentor to peers and colleagues in disseminating best practices and proactively seeks out training opportunities. Using TEA Tools Effectively- Uses TEA tools, such as Jira and Modern Requirements, to manage the change control process, participate in the SDLC, and track and communicate requirements status. Required Skills: Experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements Required 8 Years Experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs) Required 8 Years Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement experience Required 8 Years Experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices Required 8 Years Experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices Required 8 Years Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills Required 8 Years Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills Required 8 Years Documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira" Required 4 Years Documented work experience with the requirements management software "Modern Requirements" Required 2 Years Preferred Skills :m Documented experience working for or closely with TEA OR a federal/state/local education agency OR ed vendor Preferred 4 Years Experience supporting complaint and case management workflows, including intake, investigation, and resolution Preferred 2 Years #J-18808-Ljbffr V Group
