Join Our Team as a Front-of-House Team Member at The Blue Loon!

The Blue Loon, a bakery café in New London, NH, is looking for friendly, dependable Front-of-House Team Members to join our team. We're hiring both part-time and full-time team members (approximately 15–32 hours per week ) with flexible availability , including weekdays and weekends .

This is a dynamic, team-oriented position where no two shifts are exactly alike. Every front-of-house team member is cross-trained in all front-of-house responsibilities, including cashier, expeditor, food runner, and floor support.

Depending on the needs of the day, you may spend part of your shift greeting customers at the register, then transition to expediting orders during the lunch rush, and later serve guests, restock supplies, assist with floor support, or help keep the café looking its best. We work together, adapt throughout the day, and pitch in wherever needed to create an exceptional experience for every customer.

Because our front-of-house team is cross-trained, you'll become comfortable performing all of the following responsibilities as your role shifts throughout the day:

• Greeting customers warmly and providing exceptional hospitality from the moment they walk through our doors.
• Operating the point-of-sale system and accurately processing customer orders and payments.
• Serving as an expeditor by organizing, checking, and coordinating orders before they're served.
• Serving guests with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Setting up and breaking down our pastry displays to ensure they are attractive, well-stocked, and ready for service.
• Providing floor support by maintaining a clean, welcoming dining area and assisting customers as needed.
• Assisting with general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and maintaining a clean, organized café.
• Answering questions about our menu and making thoughtful recommendations to customers.
• Restocking merchandise, bakery cases, beverages, and supplies throughout the day.
• Working closely with the kitchen and bakery teams to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
• Working together with your teammates, stepping in wherever needed, and helping create an exceptional experience for every customer, every day.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, mornings, and holidays as needed.
• At least one year of cashier or customer service experience, preferably in a food service, café, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating a warm, welcoming experience for every customer.
• The ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and a positive attitude.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative, team-first mindset. We all pitch in wherever needed, support one another, and celebrate shared success.
• The ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lift, and comfortably perform the physical demands of a busy bakery café, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
• A dependable work ethic and attention to detail.

Hourly wage plus participation in our shared tip pool (typically an additional $3–$5 per hour).
