Job Opportunity – Medical Oncologist – Minnesota

Start Date: As soon as possible (December availability highly preferred; emergency privileges may be available for expedited start)

Location: Minnesota

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Outpatient only. Seeing 13-20 patients per day. 6-month contract with option to extend.

• Full-spectrum medical oncology and hematology including solid tumor cancers and hematologic conditions
• Onsite infusion center with 9 chairs, 2 private treatment rooms, and dedicated infusion nursing team
• Comprehensive onsite diagnostics including PET scans (including PSMA PET), MRI, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and laboratory services
• Multidisciplinary care team including oncology nurse navigator, RN and LPN support, oncology research nurse, social work, dietitian, mental health support, and financial navigation
• Access to clinical trials through MMCORC and NCI-supported research programs with dedicated research nurse onsite
• No radiation administration; charting completion expected within 24 hours
• Strong clinical autonomy with robust system-level support and centralized prior authorization assistance

Requirements:

• Active Minnesota medical license or IMLC eligibility required
• Board certification or board eligibility in Medical Oncology
• Experience managing broad outpatient oncology and hematology populations
• Credentialing timeframe: 90-120 days (emergency privileges may be available)
• Fingerprinting required (typically 48 hours to post; must be completed prior to privileges being granted)

Clinical Scope:

Manage patient care across the full continuum including new patient consults and diagnosis, treatment planning and chemotherapy oversight, and ongoing disease management and follow-up. Patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and oncology supportive therapies. Collaboration with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncology partners, and primary care providers. Connected clinic and infusion model with morning focus on new consults and follow-up visits, and afternoon coordination with infusion team to approve treatments, address lab abnormalities, and manage urgent patient needs.

• 5 clinic exam rooms dedicated to oncology services
• Oncology provider coordinator support for scheduling
• Cancer rehabilitation and survivorship services
• Palliative care and genetic counseling available via telehealth
• Oncology/Infusion Department Nurse Manager oversight
• Radiation oncology collaboration with regional partners

Travel & Expenses:

Comprehensive travel support package includes economy airfare (up to 2 roundtrip flights per month), lodging reimbursement up to $200/night or $4,500/month total, economy rental car or SUV in winter months (up to $100/day), mileage reimbursement, standard baggage fees, and economy airport parking or rideshare services.
