The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Power BI development, administration, and governance, along with hands-on experience integrating Power BI with Azure data platforms and Fabric. This role involves leading technical delivery, driving modernization initiatives, mentoring teams, and ensuring best practices for performance, scalability, and governance.**Key Responsibilities****Solution Design & Development*** Lead the design and development of Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and enterprise reporting solutions.* Implement best practices for data modeling, DAX calculations, and Power Query transformations.* Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance optimization for large datasets.* Integrate Power BI with Azure data services and Fabric components.**Tableau-to-Power BI Migration*** Drive migration projects from Tableau to Power BI, ensuring feature parity and improved user experience.* Collaborate with stakeholders to validate migrated dashboards, reports, and KPIs.* Define migration strategies, governance standards, and adoption plans.**Administration & Governance*** Manage Power BI Service administration, including workspace governance, security (RLS), deployment pipelines, and capacity management.* Establish governance frameworks, monitoring standards, and compliance controls.* Monitor platform usage, performance, and adoption metrics.**Team Leadership*** Mentor and guide BI developers on technical best practices and solution architecture.* Collaborate with business and data engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.* Lead code reviews, design discussions, and development standards.**Required Skills & Qualifications****Technical Expertise*** Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Gateway.* Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling principles.* Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing analytical workloads.* Hands-on experience with Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, and OneLake.* Experience integrating Power BI with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure SQL Database, and Azure Databricks.**Migration Experience*** Proven experience leading Tableau-to-Power BI migration projects.**Administration*** Experience in Power BI administration, including governance, security, tenant settings, workspace management, and capacity planning.**Soft Skills*** Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.* Ability to lead technical teams and ensure delivery quality.* Strong problem-solving and consulting skills.**Fabric & Azure*** Strong understanding of Fabric architecture and implementation.* Experience working within Azure-based analytics and reporting environments.**Pay**The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $80,000 – $110,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus for the current performance period.**Benefits**As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time.
