Custodian

Job Title

High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful work experience as a custodian is desirable. Possession of a valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to operate power equipment such as lawn mowers, shop vacs, floor scrubbers, etc. Ability to lift up to eighty (80) pounds, climb scaffolds, ladders, and work in high areas such as roofs. Ability to organize, perform minor repairs, willingness to work with others. Demonstrates reliability, timeliness and good attendance. Demonstration of and commitment to the Washington Local School District's Panther Competencies: Empathy, Communication, Adaptability, Critical Thinking, Integrity and Learner's Mindset.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Attend workshops, departmental meetings, and other related instructional programs. Comply with applicable state and federal laws, Board of Education policy, established work rules and guidelines, administrative/supervisory directives and terms of the OAPSE Master Agreement. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Per OAPSE Master Agreement. Possible contact with unruly students. Possible occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissue. Possible occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals such as the ones contained in cleaning, polishing, and boiler compounds and with asbestos materials. Occasional need to lift up to eighty (80) pounds; occasional need to climb scaffolds and ladders and to work in high areas such as roofs.
