Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Pain Specialists of America (“PSA” or “Company”) is a Texas-based, multisite comprehensive pain management company that includes over 15 locations, three ASCs, and one CLIA-certified laboratory in New Braunfels. The Billing Specialist (“Specialist”) and all PSA employees must demonstrate an absolute commitment to excellence, respect and delivery of the highest quality patient care. The Billing Specialist must maintain all technical standards to meet continuous quality improvement needs, financial and delivery requirements. The position requires a strong medical business office background familiar with E&M, Surgical, ASC, and Anesthesia Coding. The coder must have common medical billing and coding practices. This position also requires some experience in revenue cycle management to facilitate help with coding requests due to claims processing/denials. The qualified candidate must rely, in part, on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals as discussed with their manager. This position requires the ability to work effectively with the RCM Coding team to achieve goals and complete tasks within policy requirements. Job Duties Code and create claims for services provided by Providers within the EMR system. Ensure appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes are billed. Review and respond appropriately to appeal requests within RCM department. Assist Lead with RCM projects and tasks.
