Registered Nurse - ER (Emergency Department) - Shreveport, LA | 12-Hour Days

Shift: 12-Hour Days

Hours/week: 36-40

Employment Type: Contract

Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, CPI or MOAB

Experience: 2+ years recent ED RN experience; first-time travelers must meet experience criteria

Patient Population: Neonatal to Geriatric; all ages with a variety of conditions including respiratory distress, stroke, cardiac issues, trauma, mental health, and substance abuse cases

Patient Visits: 85-95 per day

Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 3 patients

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Perform IV starts, continuous patient monitoring, and assess patient severity
• Collaborate with charge nurses, RTs, hospitalists, and support staff
• Use Meditech Expanse EMR for charting
• Manage multiple systems simultaneously and prioritize patient needs
• Maintain excellent patient safety and compliance standards
• Work as part of a team to deliver compassionate care in a busy ED environment

What You Need

Required:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or able to obtain
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI or MOAB certifications
• Minimum of 2 years recent ED RN experience
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Skilled in IV starts, multitasking, patient monitoring, and identifying patient severity

Preferred:

• Experience working with diverse patient populations
• Previous ED travel experience
