We are searching for a Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) for our Float Team - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position you'll provide quality nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family centered principles and cost-effective care. • CPCU
• Cancer Center Critical Care –
• CICU (3 floors)
• PICU (4 floors)
• Bone Marrow Transplant
• NICU (3 different levels)
• EC
• Adult Congenital Heart Disease *Preferred 2 years EC and/or ICU RN experience
*Pediatric experience preferred Shift: Days 7a-7p(Full & Part time available) Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in nursing, associate's degree, or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or an associate's degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license required or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN with a verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement. • 9 months professional nursing experience (required)• RN License by Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse License Compact • CPR – Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association • The ability to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skills, good time and resource management skills, flexibility, strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of unit-specific equipment, and knowledge of the nursing process, critical thinking skills, PALS, and interdisciplinary collaboration As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards. Responsibilities: • Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental (age-appropriate), culture, spiritual, and environmental needs in an organized and systematic manner • Analyzes situations, anticipates potential problems, and detects changes in patient status • Re-prioritizes and updates plan of care based on new information and changes to the patient's condition; communicates this information to other health care team members and documents in the medical record • Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and/or patient care conferences and documents in the medical record ABOUT US Since 1954, Texas Children's has been leading the charge in patient care, education and research to accelerate health care for children and women around the world.
