Work Location & Schedule Location: Avenir Community | Northlake Blvd & Avenir Dr, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33412 Schedule: Monday – Friday, June 1st – August 8th Hours: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM Compensation Hourly Rate: $16–$20 per hour, dependent on experience Approximately 30 hours per week expected Required Certifications (Pre-Start Requirement) Valid CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certifications must be obtained prior to the start of camp Candidates must provide certification documentation before their first scheduled shift Position Summary Play Academy is seeking a highly organized, energetic, and experienced Camp Director to oversee the planning, execution, and day-to-day operations of our summer and seasonal camps. This individual will lead a team of counselors and instructors, ensure a safe and fun environment for campers, and maintain a high standard of program quality and community engagement. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of camp operations, including daily schedules, activities, and staffing Lead and support camp counselors, instructors, and volunteers to ensure high-quality program delivery Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive experience of all campers Manage camper registration, attendance, and parent communication Monitor program quality and implement improvements based on feedback and observationMaintain compliance with all community safety and organizational policies and procedures Prepare reports and communicate updates to management Represent Play Academy professionally and positively at all times Independent Contractor Status (1099) This position will be classified as a 1099 Independent Contractor Responsible for taxes, insurance, and compliance as applicable Flexible schedule required, including early mornings and occasional extended hours during camp sessions Qualifications Prior experience managing or directing youth camps or recreational programs required Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills Ability to plan and organize complex schedules and activities Reliable, professional, and solution-oriented Experience with youth development and age-appropriate programming preferred Physical Requirements Ability to lead and supervise physical activities and remain active throughout the camp day Ability to lift light equipment and manage supplies as needed Ability to respond quickly in emergency or high-activity situations Play Academy is committed to equal opportunity employment and values the diversity and unique contributions of all our team members.
