Overview
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Travel) in San Luis Obispo, CA. Start August 24, 2026 for an 8-week assignment with 40 guaranteed hours per week. Day shift (5x8) in a short-term acute care hospital setting. Weekly pay range: $2,073 to $2,187. This travel temporary assignment includes a 40-hour workweek and the typical OR workflow you expect from a perioperative role.

Responsibilities
- Circulate in the operating room during surgical procedures and coordinate flow of equipment, supplies, and staff under the supervision of the surgeon and anesthesia team.
- Maintain aseptic technique and patient safety throughout the perioperative phase of care.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including safe anatomical positioning and pre-procedure checks.
- Participate in pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care planning and nursing treatment following department criteria.
- Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials and document relevant information in the facility’s information systems.

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California) or as permitted by state authorization.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy.
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience; 1 year of previous full-time OR experience is required.
- Epic EMR experience is required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (or equivalent) is required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- PALS certification and CNOR certification are preferred but not required.
- Ability to circulate in the OR, apply aseptic technique, and operate commonly used OR equipment.
