COBOL Developer

We are looking for a Senior COBOL Developer & Team Lead to drive the maintenance, development, and team leadership for a core, mission-critical driver and vehicle processing platform. You'll lead back-end COBOL development, partner with business units, and oversee L3 support in a modern Windows client-server environment.

Location: Blythewood, SC (Candidate MUST currently reside in SC, NC, or GA)

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Interview Process: 2 Rounds of Virtual Interviews

Key Required Skills (10+ Years Experience Needed)

• Visual COBOL V9+ Advanced architecture, coding, and debugging.
• Tech Team Leadership Leading dev teams in project planning, execution, and mentoring.
• Oracle SQL + COBOL Hands-on experience developing COBOL systems paired with Oracle SQL databases.
• Windows Client-Server Systems Maintenance of complex, mission-critical applications.
• L3 Production Support Troubleshooting high-priority issues and delivering system updates.
• Business Analysis Partnering directly with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specs.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

• Tech Stack: Oracle 19 SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio .NET / C#.
• Background: Public sector/government environment experience.
• Education & Certs: Bachelor's in CS/related field; Visual COBOL certifications are a big plus.

Important Candidate Requirements

• Current Residency: Must currently live in SC, NC, or GA and be willing to relocate to SC at least 5 business days prior to start date for mandatory in-state fingerprinting.
• Background Check: Must be eligible for CJIS security clearance (sponsorship provided).
