Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an Accounts Payable Clerk on behalf of our client, a company dedicated to supporting community safety. This is a full-time, temporary, on-site position located in Sausalito, California . Position Overview The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of accounting support duties with a primary focus on accounts payable operations. This role ensures vendor transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with established purchasing policies and authorization requirements while supporting financial operations and accountability processes. Responsibilities Process vendor invoices, verifying approvals, purchase order requirements, and compliance with District purchasing policies. Prepare payment support documentation and confirm expenses are properly coded and budgeted. Ensure accurate posting, recording, and payment of vendor invoices within established timelines. Compile and prepare reports related to purchase orders, payments, and fiscal transactions using QuickBooks Online. Prepare checks in QuickBooks Online. Manage the accounts payable email inbox, process incoming invoices, obtain approvals, and respond to vendor and internal payment inquiries. Prepare and upload check listings according to county specifications and confirm checks include dual signatures once released. Prepare checks for mailing, including assembling backup documentation and processing postage. Scan and upload supporting documentation to the finance drive and maintain organized physical filing records. Assist with credit card (Cal Card) activity review and reconciliations as needed. Qualifications At least 1 year of accounts payable or related accounting experience. Strong attention to detail and understanding of accounts payable procedures and internal controls. Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred. COMPENSATION This position offers a pay rate of $30-$33/hour plus benefits.
