Senior Accountant

Market America | SHOP.COM, a product brokerage and Internet marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will maintain accounting records and prepare financial statements and analysis.

CPA Required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, monthly financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
• Maintains and reconciles all assigned general ledger accounts
• Monitors and generates reports to management of cash balances for multiple affiliated entities
• Prepares journal entries and maintains and reconciles various general ledger accounts to ensure accurate monthly processes
• Analyzes business operations, trends, costs and revenues to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice
• Completes assigned tasks in the monthly close process
• Examines processes used to generate the journal entries that create the monthly financial statements, and confirms accuracy, completeness and relevancy of the elements used
• Develops, maintains and analyzes budgets, and prepares periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs, for both operating costs and capital expenditures
• Documents processes and desktop procedures used in performing assigned responsibilities
• Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
• Performs advanced and specialized accounting assignments involving complex and confidential data
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as needed or requested

Education and Experience

• CPA Required
• Bachelor’s degree within finance or accounting; minor in computer information systems
• Four plus years of experience in finance and accounting or a combination of equivalent experience, education, and training

Skills

• Advanced use MS Office Products, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Above moderate levels of English speaking, writing, and reading comprehension; active listening; critical thinking; analytical, judgment; mathematics; and attention to detail
