The Civil Service title for these positions is Account Clerk II.Application submissions require the Supplemental Questionnaire to be completed.About the PositionThe Animal Services Account Clerk II positions are part of the Sonoma County Animal Services team and work to support their overall mission of promoting responsible pet ownership throughout the community. These positions provide excellent customer service to the public in person, by phone, and through email. Additional responsibilities include:Helping members of the public with animal adoptions, including applications, billing, and paymentsReceiving and processing license applications and paymentsEntering and updating records and information in our systemsPreparing and submitting weekly depositsCoordinating billing and processing payments related to the shelterAssisting with donations, including sending letters of acknowledgmentCoordinating with the public to schedule animal surgeries and process voucher applicationsOrdering and maintaining office suppliesAs an ideal candidate for these positions, you will have exceptional customer service skills, and you will possess many of the following:Experience with financial transactions and processing paymentsThe ability to work with a diverse customer baseExperience with data entry and database systems (experience with Chameleon is a plus)An understanding that building relationships within your team is importantThe ability to shift gears quickly, assisting where needed in a fast-paced front lobby environmentEmpathy, with an emphasis on working with the public in a calm mannerA love for animals, as you will be working in an animal shelterBasic or fluent bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are desired, but not requiredPlease note: The schedule for these positions is Tuesday through Saturday, between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm, in person. Normally, this would include completion of 12 semester units or 16 quarter units in accounting, record keeping, business math, or a closely related field.OROne year of full-time experience which includes the review, processing, and maintenance of fiscal transactions and accounts, or statistical data and records.License: Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including special endorsements, as required by the State of California, may be required depending upon assignment to perform the essential job functions of the position.
