Job Title: Interventional Radiology Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:30 - 16:00) Experience: Minimum years required: not specified License: State License Required Certifications: ACLS, ARRT VI, BLS Must-Have: - Fluoroscopy experience required Description: Shift consists of 5 days, 8.00 hours per day from 07:30 to 16:00. Rotating overnight on-call and weekend call is required. Call is 1-2 days per week and 1 weekend per month. Holiday call for the operating room and possible assistance with PICC lines if needed. Five procedure room unit includes 2 fluoroscopy rooms, 2 ultrasound rooms, and 1 CT-capable room. The unit services approximately 10-15 cases per day on average. Typical cases range from joint injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, nephrostomy, and cholecystectomy tube placements and exchanges, to abscess drains, port placements, biopsies, thrombectomies, embolizations, chest tube placements, and more. Facility highlights include 255 total staffed beds. Staff scrub colors can be black or Caribbean blue. Charting is done using Meditech. Patient care details include adults as the primary age group. The unit has a daily census and serves a diverse range of patient diagnoses. Special procedures include various imaging and intervention techniques related to interventional radiology and vascular procedures. Additional equipment used in the unit includes fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and CT technology. The position requires excellent clinical skills in accessing and managing ports, monitoring, and conducting interventional radiology procedures. Candidates must have experience with central venous access, angiography, biopsies, and maintaining a sterile field. A zero-tolerance policy for THC is enforced. Fit testing is required prior to starting. Travelers must comply with all health and safety regulations as specified by the facility.
