Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations as well as fabrication to manufacture products to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in assigned welding techniques, including MIG/TIG/Stick machines.
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirements and symbols
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials as well as knowledge and ability to weld dissimilar metals
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
• Conventional and precision measuring instruments
• Process inspection, certification, and documentation
• Welding equipment maintenance
• Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
• Safety and housekeeping
• Fabrication/repair of parts, pieces and or machinery
• Other duties as assigned by the area lead person / management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be proficient in MIG, TIG and Stick welding as well as print reading and shop math. A welding test, print and math quiz will be part of interview.
• One-year experience in various forms of welding or a welding internship
• Must be capable of following instructions and working independently.
• Must be able to read and follow detailed engineering drawings.
• Must be detail orientated.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. Any unscheduled absence or tardy will have a negative impact on our ability to meet our production objectives.
