Description
Join Pilgrim Place, a welcoming senior living community in Claremont, CA, where respect, kindness, and teamwork guide all that we do. We're looking for a dependable and compassionate Food Service Aide/ Cook to join our team. In this role, you'll provide personal care and support that helps residents maintain comfort, dignity, and independence.
Schedule Requirement: This position requires full open availability, including weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Shifts may vary based on operational needs.
What You'll Do:
Prepare and serve high-quality meals, baked goods, and special diets while following recipes and production schedules.
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards, including temperature monitoring and proper food handling.
Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, and stocking food and supplies.
Support meal service, special events, and kitchen operations, including setup, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
Collaborate with the culinary team to provide excellent service and support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications
What You Bring:
Minimum 2 years of quantity cooking experience required
Experience preparing therapeutic or special diets preferred
Healthcare, senior living, or institutional food service experience strongly preferred
Ability to read recipes, follow written/verbal instructions, and perform recipe-related calculations
Leadership skills and/or experience directing team members preferred
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Professionalism, sound judgment, and respect for confidentiality
