Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher for a full-time, contract position starting as soon as possible and running through May 21. This onsite role focuses on working with students who have a range of emotional disabilities and diverse eligibility areas, requiring strong skills in promoting prosocial behaviors and guiding self-regulation.
The ideal educator excels in a self-contained classroom environment and demonstrates a heart for helping at-risk youth, students with limited English proficiency, and those with exceptional needs. Your expertise will support students academically and socially, tailoring instruction and intervention strategies while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Arizona Standard Secondary Teaching License
- Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
- Demonstrated experience in self-contained classrooms, especially with emotional disabilities
- Familiarity with developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related documentation
- Understanding of and sensitivity to diverse student populations, including at-risk and English language learners
- E.E.E.I. (Essential Elements of Effective Instruction) training, or willingness to participate in relevant professional development
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, targeted instruction to students with emotional and behavioral needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with families
- Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment focused on growth and inclusion
