Accounting Operations Supervisor

Query Talent is recruiting an Accounting Operations Supervisor for a confidential employer in the Des Moines metro. This is a six-month contract opportunity with potential conversion to full time for a leader who can manage high-volume accounting operations, coach a team, support month-end activity, and improve controlled transaction-processing workflows. Target contract rate: $42/hour. Conversion salary target: $90,000/year if converted to full time. Work setup: Hybrid. Experience: 5+ years of professional accounting or finance experience, including accounting operations, finance operations, or transaction-processing leadership. Responsibilities:

Supervise and develop a team of accounting operations professionals through coaching, guidance, mentorship, clear expectations, and performance feedback.
Lead, direct, assign, and review work to maintain workflow, productivity, accuracy, and timely execution.
Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for operational questions and issue resolution.
Partner with internal stakeholders and communicate policies, practices, procedures, priorities, and updates clearly.
Support high-volume accounting operations and month-end activity in a controlled financial operations environment.
Identify workflow, control, or process issues and implement practical improvements that strengthen performance and reliability.

Requirements:

5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
Experience leading and coaching a team in accounting operations, finance operations, or a transaction-processing environment.
Ability to assign and review work, manage weekly priorities, monitor performance, and deliver operational objectives.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain policies and procedures clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Proven problem-solving ability, including analyzing issues with broader operational impact and implementing process improvements.
Ability to work a hybrid schedule in the Urbandale / Des Moines metro area, with onsite attendance expected approximately six times per month.
