Java Software Engineer

We are seeking a Software Engineer (Java/Linux) to join our semiconductor test automation team. This position centers on developing high-performance software for automated test systems. The ideal candidate is a strong software developer passionate about building scalable, maintainable engineering solutions in a Linux environment. Experience with electrical test systems or automated instrumentation is a plus, but a solid grounding in software design is essential. Key Responsibilities Software Development: Design, implement, and maintain Java-based applications and frameworks that drive automated semiconductor test processes on Linux. Test Automation: Build tools, APIs, and automation frameworks to accelerate test program generation, validation, and reporting for the Advantest V93000 platform. Integration & Interface Design: Develop modular, extensible software that interfaces with test instrumentation, device models, and data analysis tools. Debugging & Optimization: Analyze performance bottlenecks, identify root causes, and optimize system throughput across multiple test configurations. Collaboration & Agile Development: Work closely within a cross-functional team of software, test, and hardware engineers in a collaborative Agile environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Strong proficiency in Java programming. Familiarity with version control tools (Git, Bitbucket) and CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, and design patterns. Strong problem-solving and debugging capability in complex software systems. Preferred Experience Experience with Advantest V93000 or other ATE systems running SmarTEST 7/8 . Working knowledge of semiconductor testing , test automation , or hardware-software integration . Familiarity with compiler design or code generation concepts such as formal grammars , parsing , or abstract syntax trees (AST) . Exposure to scripting languages (Python, Ruby, or Bash) for test and automation workflows. Understanding of basic electronics or digital systems is a plus.
