About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) Experience: 2+ years of current operating room experience required, including float experience to vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotic surgery, urology, and ENT. License: New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required. Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certifications required. Must-Have: EPIC experience required. Strong skills in vascular and orthopedic surgery required. Circulating and scrub experience required. Traveler candidate must have their own vehicle. MUST be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Permanent address must be included in the profile and must match Driver License/State ID. Description: Operating Room Nurses provide surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive before, during, and after surgery. Activities include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, pre and post-operative patient education, and monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being. Nurses will integrate and coordinate patient care throughout the surgical care continuum. The position primarily involves circulating, with scrub experience considered a valuable additional skill. The patient population includes pediatric to adult. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. There are 14 operating rooms available, with coverage in labor and delivery for C-sections. Care is provided in all surgical specialties except cardiac and ophthalmology. The average number of procedures performed per day is 50. Requested time off during the assignment must be noted and verified at upload. Travelers must have completed training from approved groups for onboarding and clearance. COVID vaccinations are encouraged but not required. A 14 panel drug screen is required prior to uploading a candidate.
