Custodian General Info Job Type: Full-Time Location: Four Seasons Environmental, Inc. - National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility: Manhattan, Kansas Pay: $23.19/hr. plus fringe benefit of $9.87/hr. Hours: Monday to Friday - Time TBD Benefits: Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Life Insurance Retirement Benefit - 401(k) with match Disability Insurance Job Description Key Responsibilities: Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces. Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets. Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g., soap). Wipe mirrors and windows. Identify/report damages and repairs needed. Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, following closeout procedures. Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.). Other duties as assigned. Requirements and Skills Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role. Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances. Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components. Attention to detail and conscientiousness. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must be able to communicate effectively in English to follow instructions, ensure safety, and complete job duties. High school diploma is preferred but not required. Must be able to pass a comprehensive drug screening. FSE is a federal contractor and complies with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, which requires a drug-free work environment as a condition of employment. This includes substances that may be permitted under state law, such as cannabis. Must be able to pass a background check appropriate to the responsibilities of the position. Background screenings are conducted in accordance with applicable laws. Employees may be subject to immunization and testing requirements pursuant to Client and current Company requirements. Employees must meet the requirements of the federal credentialing process to access the facility, which includes but is not limited to, obtaining facility access (aka PIV card, smart card, access card, badge) and meeting ongoing training and access requirements. Employees may be required to participate in the select agent program which would include additional background investigations, training, and performing work in a bio containment facility, as well as meeting ongoing program requirements to maintain eligibility and compliance.
