Job Summary Provides quality and technically relevant instruction in the assigned program. Follows departmental guidelines, policies, procedures and relevant regulations. Location Primary: Kennesaw campus, 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Alternate: Marietta campus, 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. Department Information Provides quality instruction in Phlebotomy Technician best practices Describes effective infection control in the healthcare setting Defines structure of cardiovascular system, including medical terms, disorders, and diagnostic tests Obtains non-blood specimens competently Demonstrates common blood collection procedures Department Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must hold expert knowledge in medical lab procedures, cardiology, and medical terminology Must be comfortable teaching in classroom and on a distance learning platform Responsibilities Provides quality and technically relevant instruction of course curriculum Teaches students learning strategies Conducts teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment, manipulatives, props, and other learning aids Provides continual feedback and various methods of assessment measurement to ensure student mastery of learning outcomes Assesses and records grading for all homework assignments, quizzes, and tests Completes paperwork associated with classroom and project management Participates in marketing of courses to prospective students by providing technical information during biannual Open House events Assists with course and/or program evaluation and continuous improvement; resolves quiz disputes when necessary Maintains acceptable program quality and satisfaction scores Keeps Program Manager informed of curriculum or student code of conduct issues Records attendance in learning management system Required Qualifications Registered Nurse within the state of Georgia from an accredited institution of higher education, or Licensed Practical Nurse within Georgia from an accredited institution of higher education, or CMA, RMA, or CCMA credentialed medical assistant, or Credentialed Phlebotomy Technician Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia Nurse (RN, LPN) licensure, CMA, RMA, or CCMA credentialed medical assistant, or Credentialed Phlebotomy Technician Five (5) years of experience as a credentialed Phlebotomy Technician, credentialed Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN Previous teaching experience (preferred) Abilities Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines Able to motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process Able to review syllabus and learning outcomes the first night of class Able to provide sufficient time for students to complete course evaluations Able to respond to student inquiries in a timely manner Familiar with all emergency procedures posted in the classroom Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office suite) Strong attention to detail and follow up skills Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette Other Information This is not a supervisory position. This position does not have any financial responsibilities. This position will not be required to drive. This role is considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card). This position may travel 1% - 24% of the time. Background Check Standard Enhanced. Education.
