• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Start: ASAP
• Pay Rate: $77.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 3x12 Hours (19:00–7:30). Most likely a straight Night Shift position. If clinician is needed to cover both nights and days, schedule flips every 4 weeks. Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks. Traveler can be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks.
• Travel Requirements: Not required. Local candidates not accepted — candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility.
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Labor and Delivery RN travel assignment at an acute hospital Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma center, and USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska. The unit is a high-risk L&D unit featuring 10 OB Triage Rooms, 10 LDR Rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms. Average daily deliveries are around 7, but the unit often manages up to 14 patients with inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. OB Triage averages 4–5 third-trimester testing patients as well as an influx of triage patients each day. The unit census ranges from 5–10 in OB Triage/Testing and 7–14 in LD/Antepartum. The facility has 407 total staffed beds and uses Epic for charting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit, including OB Triage, LDR, OR suites, and PACU.
• Manage antepartum patients and inductions, with caseloads of up to 14 patients.
• Support OB Triage, including third-trimester testing patients and triage influx patients.
• Float to like units within scope to meet facility needs, if needed.
• Serve in or train for Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed.

Education Requirements

• AK (Alaska) RN License required (must have license in hand for Auto Offer; pending license accepted for submission).
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required.
• AWHONN Advanced certification required.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery RN experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted.

Required Skills

• Labor and Delivery nursing skills, including high-risk L&D, antepartum, and OB Triage.
• Charge experience preferred or willingness to train as charge nurse.
• Ability to float to like units within scope to meet facility needs.
• Proficiency with Epic charting system.

Important Notes

• AK RN License must be in hand for Auto Offer. Pending license is accepted for submission, but license must be in hand before an auto offer is extended.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be included in the submittal. Time off is approved on an individual basis upon offer.
• Block schedule: not available.
• Locals not accepted: candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
