The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
• Select appropriate electrodes, tooling, and fixtures for various EDM processes.
• Monitor EDM operations, adjusting parameters and making corrections as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with EDM equipment and processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years experience operating EDM machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for EDM operations
• Demonstrated ability to perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Commitment to safety protocols and quality control standards

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for CNC machining.
• Familiarity with EDM machine programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code).
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of different electrode materials and their applications.
• Experience with quality control tools and techniques (e.g., CMM, micrometers).
