Job Summary:
This respiratory therapy position is based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts (12-hour shifts) with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program; licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board; must be registered CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) or RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist); BLS certification
• Preferred Qualifications: N/A
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: This role involves performing aerosol medication delivery, pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, oxygen therapy, and advanced procedures such as UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABG analysis, blood glucose monitoring, arterial cannulation, and airway management. Candidates may be called upon to manage extracorporeal circulation and perform ventilator care, including setting up ventilators, verifying functionality, and weaning patients as appropriate. Responsibilities also include recording patient care information in electronic medical records, serving as a resource to staff and physicians, training new staff members, and potentially assuming charge therapist duties. The position may require on-call availability on days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
