Technical Community Manager

Technical Community Manager – Postman Postman is a leading API platform used by millions of developers worldwide. We are looking for a Technical Community Manager to build and lead a global community that extends beyond Postman users. Responsibilities Own the end‑to‑end strategy for Postman’s Discord community. Design and run Discord‑native engagement programs (Quests, Stage events, structured channels). Define and track community health metrics (signup growth, DAU/MAU, message volume, retention curves, engagement rate). Create community rituals such as weekly challenges, office hours, live builds, AMAs. Build and launch Ambassador and MVP programs, including selection criteria, benefits, activation playbooks. Identify, recruit, and nurture top community contributors and technical advocates worldwide. Lead the creation of a broader “Agents & APIs” community and position Postman as connective tissue for agent development workflows. Curate technical content, tutorials, and community showcases highlighting agent and API patterns. Partner with adjacent communities to grow reach and cross‑pollinate membership. Translate community engagement into measurable product activation; design programs that surface key Postman features. Build a content ecosystem motivating community members to create tutorials, blog posts, videos, templates, and open‑source collections. Run structured UGC campaigns and amplify content via Postman channels. Collaborate with the Developer Relations team to surface community voices in conferences, product documentation, and marketing. Qualifications 6+ years of experience in developer community management, developer relations, or a related technical role. Experience running Discord communities at scale, using bots, permission structures and native engagement features. Proven record of building programs from zero to measurable impact. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Data‑driven mindset; ability to define and build around key metrics. Nice to Have Experience with AI agents, LLM frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, etc.) or MCP‑based tools. Familiarity with Postman or similar API tooling (Insomnia, Bruno, Swagger). Background in software engineering or technical writing. Experience managing global community programs across time zones and languages. Success Metrics 90‑day: complete community audit, launch ambassador framework, establish Discord engagement cadence. 6‑month: measurable growth in Discord signups and weekly active members, first cohort of Ambassadors/MVPs activated, at least one community‑driven product activation campaign completed. 12‑month metrics: community growth, engagement rate, product activation lift, community‑led activity, and independent traction of Agents & APIs community. Compensation & Benefits The base salary ranges from $175,000 to $195,000, plus a competitive equity package.
