Position InformationHiring Manager:Associate DirectorDepartment:Operational Risk ManagementDepartment OverviewThe Operational Risk Management (“ORM”) Department is responsible for the Risk Mitigation Framework. The Risk Mitigation Framework provides the process, tools and approach that are needed to support and enhance the control environment required to minimize operational risks related to Golub Capital’s non-investment functions. The Risk Mitigation Framework was created to minimize material losses, provide process and internal control oversight, and anticipate potential material loss events. The Risk Mitigation Framework is comprised of a set of consistent and repeatable elements that allow Golub Capital to identify, assess, mitigate, and report on the operational risk profile of the firm. The Risk Mitigation programs include Risk and Control Self-Assessment (“RCSA”), Issue Management (“IM”), Vendor Risk Management (“VRM”), Business Continuity Management (“BCM”), and Internal Control Testing (“ICT”).Position Responsibilities The essential functions of this role include participating in the assessment of risks facing Golub Capital and supporting the development of a comprehensive plan to identify, measure, monitor and report risk components. We are seeking an individual to support the continued development of this function and help advance the program. This individual will help support the Vendor Risk Management (VRM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) programs and will be responsible for assisting with efforts to expand the program's capabilities, increase participation and drive process improvements.This role requires the ability to develop detailed plans, track progress, manage obstacles and ultimately support efforts to deliver new initiatives on time and within budget. This is an internal client-facing role requiring communication with users at all levels of the organization.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Supporting the development and implementation of initiatives and tasks associated with the VRM and BCM programsAssisting with the implementation of the VRM framework providing direction to the ‘first line of defense’Supporting management of the central vendor repository for the Firm and supporting the automation of vendor on-boarding and off-boarding processesEnsuring vendor risk oversight including visibility of existing and emerging threats and identifying mitigation plansSupporting the execution of VRM training to ensure effective application and program awareness firmwideStaying informed of industry developments and regulatory requirements ensuring compliance and proactive adaptationLiaising with third-party vendors as requiredCreating and maintaining VRM and BCM-related reporting to meet the needs of senior management and oversight committeesProactively identifying, tracking, and analyzing operational risks within the Firm and implementing control improvementsCandidate RequirementsQualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required4+ years of experience in financial services risk management, management information systems or related roleExperience and detailed knowledge of third-party risk management, financial services industry practices, internal controls and regulatory requirementsCertifications (Preferred): Operational Risk Management Certificate, Certified Third Party Risk Management Professional (C3PRMP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) DesignationUnderstanding and experience with operational loss causes, measures and mitigation strategiesExperience analyzing Excel reports with ability to run formulas preferredAssertive, self-motivated, team oriented, flexible and able to multi-taskExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skills; capable of communicating effectively across all levels of the organizationAttention to detail and strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage several projects at one timeHighly resourceful and proven ability to work both independently and as a team memberAbility to probe sensitive issues while maintaining high level of integrity and objectivityDemonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI tools in day-to-day work, with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, limitations and appropriate use of AI generated outputsEnthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work cultureCritical Competencies for SuccessOur Gold Standards define key behaviors and competencies across 4 dimensions: Leadership, Achieving Results, Personal Effectiveness and Thinking Critically. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered.
