Manufacturing Production Operator – Fiber AttachSamtec is seeking a Manufacturing Production Operator – Fiber Attach for our Colorado Springs, Colorado location. This is a first-shift position, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.Compensation & BenefitsStarting pay is $20.25 per hour, with the opportunity to earn an additional $0.50 per hour quality bonus for weeks with no quality rejects.Associates may also be eligible for Samtec's annual Tiger Cash bonus program once fully vested, providing an additional opportunity to share in the company's success.Comprehensive benefits include medical (HSA/PPO), dental, vision, group life, AD&D, short- and long-term disability, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), 401(k), paid time off (PTO), vacation, and other voluntary benefit options.Enjoy a collaborative work environment and supportive company culture.This position will remain open until filled.Position Summary:As a Fiber Attach (FA) Operator, you will prepare optical cable for the attachment process, attach cable assemblies to optical connectors, and perform required testing and inspections to ensure product quality and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a quality-focused mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a clean manufacturing environment while supporting production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.Essential Functions/Responsibilities:Be able to heat strip, cleave and inspect fiberAttach optical cable to connectorsPerform measurements, alignment and testing of optical cableHave a good understanding of the work instructions that apply to the areaRead, comprehend and be able to build orders according to information/specifications found on blueprints and PICSMust be familiar with all equipment and tooling and understand how and why it is used in the assembly processMust be able to use a microscope for extended periods of timeMaintain in process workflow in a lean manufacturing environmentMust have a quality mindset throughout all processesCommunicate effectively with co-workers (both written and verbal)Must have patience with new, tedious processes and have the creative mindset to suggest ideas for improved processes and toolingMust be willing to pay attention to detailRequired Experience:One Year Production/Manufacturing experience.Must be willing to adhere to department safety rules and regulations. May be exposed to noise (required to wear protective gear). May be exposed to Hazardous Materials & Chemicals (required to wear safety glasses and other protective gear).Physical Requirements:Steady handsGood hand/eye coordinationAbility to work in a clean work environment.Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
